Summary

As part of the MorPhiC Consortium, JAX is spearheading a groundbreaking initiative to functionally annotate every human gene. Despite decades of research, most genes remain poorly understood because traditional models cannot fully recapitulate human biology, and scalable, stable human cell platforms have been limited, hindering systematic exploration.

MorPhiC is transforming this landscape. By creating a comprehensive catalog of molecular and cellular phenotypes for null alleles of every human protein-coding gene using human induced pluripotent stem cell (hiPSC)-derived multicellular systems, the consortium is building unprecedented data and cellular resources for the global biomedical community.

In this webinar, you will learn:

  • How MorPhiC uses knockout hiPSC lines to systematically uncover human protein-coding gene function
  • Strategies for generating null alleles in hiPSCs and the challenges involved
  • The hiPSC-derived cellular models employed, and the molecular and phenotypic data this effort is generating and will continue to generate
  • How to access MorPhiC resources, including engineered hiPSC lines, plasmids, molecular phenotypic data, genomic information, and computational tools
