The Cre-lox system is a widely used recombinase system that allows for spatially and temporally controlled genetic modifications in mice.

During this presentation, you will learn to:

  • Select appropriate combinations of Cre drivers and loxP-flanked alleles for tissue-specific effects
  • Determine breeding strategies to generate knockouts, disease models, or to visualize anatomical structures
  • Avoid common pitfalls in generating conditional and inducible models
