In honor of Rare Disease Day on February 28th, we are offering a special JAX Tech Talk on this topic. A rare disease is defined as a disease or condition that impacts less than 200,000 people in the United States. Roughly 300 million people are impacted globally with over 7,000 rare diseases.
Our speaker for this JAX Tech Talk will be Dr. Cat Lutz (Vice President, JAX Rare Disease Translational Center) who is a leading expert in the development, characterization, and therapeutic testing of preclinical rare disease mouse models. Dr. Lutz is also the recipient of a 2021 Rare Impact Award from the National Organization for Rare Disorders.
